Less than one year after being appointed at the helm of cigarette producer Philip Morris Romania and Bulgaria, Roman Yazbeck, 41, was promoted as vice-president of the Russia division of the cigarette producer, which employs over 3,500, has two plants, and nearly 100 sales offices.
Yazbeck will be replaced by Russian-born Sergey Slipchenko, who has been working for Philip Morris for 17 years, where he started as a merchandiser.
Philip Morris Trading posted an over 521 million-euro turnover last year, 15 million euros less than in 2008, and a 22.7 million-euro gross profit compared with 4.3 million euros a year before, according to Trade Registry data, with the group being the third-largest player on the Romanian cigarette market, after British American Tobacco.
