Romtelecom has officially launched its CDMA based commercial offer in approx. 20 major cities of Romania for both residential and business customers.
Clicknet Mobile Internet, the newest service in the company’s portfolio, has promotional prices starting from 4.9 euros/month, VAT excluded.
Subscribers from more than 20 cities (for example: Bucharest, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Piatra Neamt, Ploiesti, Constanta, Arad, Iasi, Sibiu, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Oradea, Galati, etc) and from approx. 450 localities throughout the country can benefit of the mobile Internet offering provided by Romtelecom.
“The newest service from Romtelecom, mobile Internet, completes our service portfolio,” stated Yorgos Ioannidis, CEO Romtelecom.
This type of services were first made available in Oradea, in December last year. Currently, the CDMA network (Code division multiple access – wireless digital technology that allows transmitters to send large amount of information and voice data sharing the same bandwidth) close to 170 base stations in operation throughout the country and this number is increasing on a daily basis.
The new services will be officially launched and promoted both locally and regionally, the coverage following to extend on a daily basis to serve other areas (urban and rural) across the country.
“Romtelecom’s strategy for CDMA is to extend the network coverage in order to offer basic and supplementary services and is also targeting areas where is difficult and not economical to be served by fixed infrastructure (by cable, fiber, etc), thus contributing to lowering the digital divide between the urban and rural population by offering both fixed voice and wireless broadband services”, said the head of Romtelecom.
Customers who want to subscribe to mobile Internet can choose one of the four Romtelecom Clicknet Mobile subscriptions, with
