The Romanian Audit Bureau of Circulations (BRAT) late last week released the October results for its audience and Internet study, which provides information on the traffic and visitors of around 150 Romanian websites.
The top 20 websites (ranked in terms of the number of unique customers) remained largely unchanged one month after the first results of the Audience and Internet Traffic Survey (SATI) were released.
The total number of BRAT-monitored websites' visitors hit 28.9 million, up around 20% from 24 million visitors in September.
Small websites, such as e-scoala.ro, rol.ro and jurnalul.ro, posted above-average increases in terms of the number of customers, while softpedia.com (ranked number one) registered a 9.25% increase.
At the same time, the lowest growth rates within the top 20 were registered by news websites protv.ro, gsp.ro, prosport.ro and sport.ro.
News, jobs and entertainment are the main services provided by the top 25 websites, while 11 of the study's top 20 websites are news providers.
In October, websites such as e-scoala.ro and jurnalul.ro entered the top 20 and also boasted the highest growth rates in terms of the number of unique customers. The survey monitored the behaviour of visitors on websites that entered the ranking in October. According to SATI criteria, a unique customer is a customer who accesses a specific website within a week.
Also, the number of unique customers equals the total number of computers that access a specific website.
As not all users agree to have tracking cookies placed on their computers and other visitors delete their Internet history, the measurement system is not completely accurate.
Traffic data will be published on a monthly basis at www.sati.ro., while a portion of results will be exclusively delivered to companies whose websites are monitored by the surve
