Discount hypermarket network Kaufland, owned by Germany's LIDL&Schwarz, is set to hire around 180 people by yearend for its second regional distribution centre located in Mihai Viteazu locality, near Turda.
At present, Kaufland Romania has more than 7,600 employees.
Works for the construction of Kaufland's second logistic centre in Romania started last year, and the first building phase will be completed by the end of this year, when a first warehouse will become operational. The retailer owns another distribution centre in Ploieşti, launched six years ago with the first Kaufland store openings in Romania.
"Kaufland logistic centre near Turda will generate around 180 full-time jobs in the first phase. The new logistic centre will particularly provide Transilvania, Banat and northern Moldova areas with various product ranges. The investment is meant to officially optimise product transit time from the logistic centre to our network stores," Iolanda Zotescu, Kaufland Romania representative, told ZF Transilvania.
