7,118 people were vaccinated against swine flu on Sunday in Bucharest at the four open centres: "Matei Bals" Institute, the Ophtalmology Hospital, Colentina Hospital and Fundeni Institute, according to Health Ministry state secretary Adrian Streinu-Cercel, quoted by Romanian news agency Mediafax.
The number of people requesting the vaccine increased tremendously during the last week, after actor Toni Tecuceanu died following complications subsequent to being infected with the A H1N1 virus.
The number of vaccination centres in Bucharest has been improved by 18 units on Monday, due to the high demand.
