Patrick Desbiens, the general manager of GlaxoSmithKline Romania (GSK) is leaving his position with the company after having been appointed vice-president of primary care operations with GSK France.
"This division (primary care i.e.) is almost half of the business in France, which for me, as a leader, is a tremendous challenge. The experience in Romania was a fantastic opportunity to learn," Patrick Desbiens said.
According to the information available on the group's website, GSK's annual business in France stands at more than 1.2 billion euros.
GSK officials said they would announce the new general manager soon.
Desbiens, 43, took the reins of the Romanian division in January 2009 and has been running an over 270 million-euro (in 2009) business (GSK's pharmaceutical unit and Europharm Distribu]ie) for almost two years.
