Last year, traditional airline operator carried 550,000 passengers on its flights to and from Romania, up by 10% from 2007.

Lufthansa continues to broaden its service offer and its presence in this market. Starting March 2 this year, the company will add a new direct flight Bucharest-Milano, thus becoming the first traditional company in the local market to operate a flight outside its home country.
Moreover, Lufthansa will double the flight frequency between Cluj and Munchen. At the implementation of summer timetable, the German-based international airline carrier will operate this route twice a day at the board of CRJ 700 aircraft with 70 seats in Business and Economic classes.
Lufthansa and Swiss will jointly operate 114 weekly flights from Romania to Frankfurt, Munchen, Dusseldorf, Geneva, Zurich, and Milan starting with the 2009 summer timetable.
Furthermore, Lufthansa announced new flight conditions on Sibiu-Munchen route. The passengers will be welcomed aboard of the modern CRJ 700 aircrafts, who have already been introduced in the daily routes.
“We will soon offer 2,000 weekly seats for our clients, on Cluj-Munchen route. The additional flights will ensure a more flexible timetable and better flight conditions for passengers who take flights from Lufthansa from Romania”, Versemann added.
