Automobile Dacia will raise the wages of its 14,000 employees by 300 RON in a fixed sum this year, in two tranches, in the wake of the almost one-month long negotiations with the trade union. The representatives of the company and Dacia trade union stated that the first hike, by 220 RON, is applied retroactively starting January 2010, while the rest of 80 RON will be paid starting April 1. In the wake of this agreement, the minimum gross wage at the plant climbed to 1,650 RON, while the average gross wage rose to 2,050 RON. Automobile Dacia also awarded a profit-contribution bonus, worth 700 RON, to be paid out in May, as well as a one-time bonus of 600 RON. Adding the extra bonuses to the wage hike, the company's wage budget rose by 15.8m euros in 2010. According to the company's trade union, after the collective labour contract of Dacia employees is sealed, wage negotiations are set to be launched within car part suppliers as well.
