The acquisitions parents traditionally make in autumn for the children who start school were smaller than last year, and orders from the state and firms were also down.
The start of school, a period when over 3 million pupils begin courses again, and which generally brings rising revenues for the PC market as well, was a weaker commercial season than in previous years, Bogdan Iftemie, the sales manager of Acer Romania, told ZF.
The leader of the domestic PC market in the third quarter sold around 30,000 portable PCs (notebooks and netbooks), down 5% from a year ago, said Iftemie.

He expects the market to grow by 10-15% in the last three months of the year, considering the winter holidays period usually brings significant sales.
On the other hand, Asus Romania, ranking second on the market, in the first nine months of the year sold 55,000 units, up 55% against last year.
