State-held Electrica, one of the leading energy distribution and supply companies on the Romanian market, intends to acquire maintenance services, occupational medicine services, and other services worth 994.9 million RON (243 million euros) over the next two years, with offers expected until March 11th.
"Electrica has three energy distribution companies and three supply ones. All services involving maintenance of the distribution network are put up for auction. This sum largely includes our exploitation spending and is covered by distribution tariffs," explains Ioan Folescu, Electrica's general manager. According to him, Electrica Serv, the subsidiary of maintenance and services of Electrica is the candidate with the biggest chance of winning this contract.
"There are not many companies able to carry through a contract of this size, and big companies, such as Siemens, for instance, are mainly interested in new equipment, which in fact amounts to investments in the network. What we are buying now is keeping our networks standing for another two years," added the manager of Electrica, a company with business put at 1.2 billion euros.
