Finnish airline Finnair's direct flights to Romania will be cancelled starting on October 29, because they are not profitable, press officer Laura Varga told MEDIAFAX on Monday.
"The company is always analyzing new opportunities. In this case, we have decided to terminate the route because it was not profitable," said Varga.
She also said that Finnair has recently created a direct flight to Croatia.
The termination of Finnair flights to Bucharest was initially reported by RFI, which cited people close to the matter, who said the flights were part of the company's strategy for Asia. Ten return flights connected Bucharest to Helsinki, RFI wrote, adding that the Finnish state owns 57% in Finnair.
