Bentley sales on the Romanian market have been taken over its centre in Austria, with the luxury car segment continuing to see a significant decline in 2010, and Porsche Romania now being just a sales agent of the brand, not an importer. The British brand, initially launched on the Romanian market in the first part of 2008, becomes the first luxury brand to leave amid the heavy decline of the Romanian car market, which has shrunk by over 70% in two years.
"Porsche Holding made the decision to move sales of the Bentley brand from Romania to Austria until the inauguration of the new showroom and servicing centre in the Pipera 2 centre. We will still be advising clients who come to us, but the sales will be done through our colleagues in Vienna," said Adrian Pascu, brand manager of Porsche, Bentley and Lamborghini brands within Porsche Romania.
Last year saw three Bentleys registered on the Romanian market, according to Police records, down 75% on the previous year.
