Rompetrol yesterday organised a press conference during which the group's CFO, Dmitri Grigoriev, flanked by three of the most powerful business lawyers in Romania (Gheorghe Muşat, a partner with Muşat şi Asociaţii, Ana Diculescu-Şova, head of the litigation department of NNDKP, and Ştefan Damian, a partner with Ţuca, Zbârcea şi Asociaţii law firm), tried to explain why Rompetrol group is a victim of state abuse, that it wanted to reach an amiable agreement with the Finance Ministry regarding bond repurchase, but also that it was ready to defend itself in court and even "defend its economic interests" by closing the refinery.
